Regain the vision you had in your 20s — or better!
If cataracts and presbyopia (age related loss of the eye’s ability to focus) are affecting your quality of life, now is the time to call Eye City for a FREE cataract screening and to discuss your treatment options. There is no need to wait until cataracts affect your vision in order to have cataract surgery. Advanced, artificial intraocular lenses (IOLs) such as Tecnis® now make it possible to regain the performance of youthful eyes—without glasses.
The Eye City Difference
Surgeon experience is a key factor in determining successful outcomes, particularly in terms of whether you will need to wear glasses following cataract surgery. Dr. George Walters is one of the most experienced cataract surgeons in the area, having performed over 22,000 successful cataract removal and lens replacement procedures.
Most cataract surgeons do not correct astigmatism or for near vision, so that afterward you will still need glasses to read or see clearly for distance. Dr. Walters can customize your cataract procedure so that no matter what you like to do, you can enjoy your vision to the fullest without the need for glasses. That's the Eye City difference.
Paying for Cataract Surgery
Most insurance plans and Medicare will cover medically required cataract surgery and standard monofocal IOLs. Premium IOLs such as Crystalens and Tecnis are not covered by Medicare and most insurance plans. However, you can finance the additional cost through Care Credit, often at a discounted or 0% financing rate. Feel free to call us with any questions you have about the cost of cataract surgery, insurance coverage, financing rates and typical monthly payments.

"I had cataracts in both eyes. On 27 Sept. 2011 Dr. Walters performed cataract surgery on my left eye. Before and during the surgery I was told everything that was going to be done. On 28 Sept. 2011 my wife and I were at the check-out counter at Walmart, and I noticed the different shades of green candy containers. I have been color blind to greens and reds all my life until now! My total experience from the first visit here has been fantastic and far, far better than any other place I have ever been."
